How does chip timing work?
Your timing chip is stapled to your bib number and needs to be attached to your shoe. Please put your race number on your front in a visible position and please do not cut or fold your number as it may prevent your time being recorded. Your timing will begin when you cross the mat under the start line banner and when you cross the finish line mat your time and position will be recorded automatically.

How do I get my race number and chip?
If you have not picked up your race number in advance then on the day of the race please go to the distribution point which will be clearly sign posted and collect your race number with timing chip attached.

What if I lose or forget to bring my number bib?
You will have to join the queue at the entry tent to remedy this. It will delay you and you will have to pay a fee for replacement.

What happens if I am not wearing my chip when I finish?
Your time or position will not be recorded.

What if I enter on the day?
Entries on the day go to the registration area in the Anchor garden and they will give you a race number with timing chip attached in exchange for completed entry form and entry fee.

Why should I collect sponsorship money?
Each year your sponsorship money helps CLIC Sargent support children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. CLIC Sargent’s Homes from Home are vital for families who regularly travel large distances for their child to be treated for cancer. They provide free accommodation in seven UK cities, just a short walk from the hospital. Here, the family can stay together and keep some sense of normality, while they support their child during often gruelling, intensive treatment.

These children need their families close by. With your support, CLIC Sargent can help families deal with childhood cancer together.

How do I collect sponsorship for running?
There will be a sponsor form included in the pack that is sent out to you after you have registered. Or you can download it from here. CLIC Sargent offers a JustGiving page that you can direct your sponsors to, where they can use paypal, debit or credit cards to donate online. It's really easy to use and you can even collect sponsorship from friends abroad.
